Erica LaCroix

Erica is a veteran public servant with more than 25 years of experience at the local and state level, primarily in Public Works and Law Enforcement. Erica grew up in Mt. Vernon and began her career with the City of Lansing, Michigan where she worked for 18 years, including as the Senior Administrator in the Operations and Maintenance division of the Public Service Department. In 2020, Erica moved back to Maine to work as the Town Manager in Winslow, where she served for three years and with the support of the Council was able to accomplish a lot. While there she was an active voice for the riverside municipalities in the efforts to remove the four lower Kennebec dams. She began working as Town Manager in Farmington in late 2023, and in her first week on the job, Erica managed the Town’s response to the extreme flooding that December. In the years since, Erica has been active in flood resilience planning efforts along the Sandy River. Erica holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Administration from Norwich University.

“I joined the Advisory Council because I am passionate about the issue of removing the lower Kennebec dams. During my time in Winslow, I was one of the most vocal advocates for the needs of the municipalities that would be affected, and I was adamant in my belief that Sappi’s continued viability is vital to the economy of the entire region and indeed the entire state. While I argued against removing the dams, now that it is imminent I believe that the municipalities and their taxpayers need a strong voice at the table to represent the unique challenges they face. I believe that the Council can bring about the best possible outcome for everyone involved by bringing a wide range of perspectives together to find solutions.”
