Joseph (J.P.) Kennedy

J.P. serves as President of the Kennebec River Watershed Alliance, representing community interests across the Kennebec River basin and supporting transparent, locally informed decision making related to watershed health, land use, and long term river management. He has spent over 25 years in the forestry sector, with experience in forest inventory and planning, developing and maintaining large conservation easements, and applying spatial and data analytics to support land management operations across New England. Raised fly fishing some of North America’s great Atlantic salmon rivers, he spent his early years monitoring and studying salmon, alewife, and other anadromous and catadromous species migrations through and around hydroelectric facilities along the East Coast. When not at home in Skowhegan, he can be found with his wife somewhere on or along the banks of a river or lake near you.
